Enfold is a transformable smart textile incorporated clothing that can be automatically worn by folding and changing the details using origami and shape memory alloy (SMA). This wearable medium is to assist those who have trouble dressing by allowing the garment to wrap around and fit the wearer without outside help. The SMA remembers its original shape and after the alloy is bent, it goes back to the original shape when it is heated. By employing SMA in the folds of fabric, the fabric can be as transformable.
The bioLogic team explored how bacterial properties can be applied to fabric and formed into living interfaces between body and environment. They found novel ways of using Natto bacteria, which move in response to humidity change. The team harvested Natto cells and applied them to fabric with custom 3D printers. The cell-infused fabric was used to make sport garments. As fabric in the suit reacts to perspiration, tiny vents over bodily heat zones open and close allowing for rapid cooling. In fall 2015, these suits featured in a live ballet performance.

This design was influenced by La Sagrada Familia whose interior contains a synergy of light and colour. Textiles designers find the importance to capture the senses. The idea was not to introduce the sensuality of the tactile material first but to create a conjuncted experience for the eyes and the body. The fabric is a woven sample. The woven clear acrylic rods create a perception of extended light of colour which strikes the user and creates a spacial interaction. The spikes of the acrylic rods may transcend aggressive surface, but the soft colours dilute such perception.
Creatively, Aya like using abstract subject matter and imagery because she want every viewer to bring their own unique background and ideas to viewing the work. She really want people to have an individual experience. Technically, this textile creates harmony through the color and texture of yarns. Jaquared weaving is an old technique that allows the combination of warp and weft to result in new colors. Jaquared also creates tiny, three-dimensional structures on the surface of the weave to give the work a different texture as you view it from different angles.
The innovative carpet for the aviation industry looks more like a flooring material and weighs considerably less than conventional carpeting (30–70 per cent weight reduction). At the same time it is extremely hard-wearing. In addition, 50 per cent of this new generation of textile flooring is made using recycled Econyl yarns. The advantages are the economic benefits associated with the need for less material, the carpet’s lower weight, optimised product functionality, lower logistics costs and new design.
