Enfold

Enfold is a transformable smart textile incorporated clothing that can be automatically worn by folding and changing the details using origami and shape memory alloy (SMA). This wearable medium is to assist those who have trouble dressing by allowing the garment to wrap around and fit the wearer without outside help. The SMA remembers its original shape and after the alloy is bent, it goes back to the original shape when it is heated. By employing SMA in the folds of fabric, the fabric can be as transformable.

Fusion

The silk female foulard inspired by the animal Kingdom, exotic nature and colors. The fashion accessory with the gentle affinity of animals drowning in flowers made in four color palettes. FLOORO

The innovative carpet for the aviation industry looks more like a flooring material and weighs considerably less than conventional carpeting (30–70 per cent weight reduction). At the same time it is extremely hard-wearing. In addition, 50 per cent of this new generation of textile flooring is made using recycled Econyl yarns. The advantages are the economic benefits associated with the need for less material, the carpet’s lower weight, optimised product functionality, lower logistics costs and new design.

Kalai

The textile is a hand woven textile. It is designed in such a way that the fabric has holes which is not woven. These holes are formed during weaving itself. The patterns formed in the textile is due to the areas which are not woven. The technique used in this fabric is such that it needs to be woven by stopping the loom. This makes it unique to handloom. In other words, it is highly difficult to weave this on a poweloom. The most interesting aspect is that this was woven with two shafts(plain weave). The technique can be used to produce a furnishing textile or an apparel.

Sun and Night

Creatively, Aya like using abstract subject matter and imagery because she want every viewer to bring their own unique background and ideas to viewing the work. She really want people to have an individual experience. Technically, this textile creates harmony through the color and texture of yarns. Jaquared weaving is an old technique that allows the combination of warp and weft to result in new colors. Jaquared also creates tiny, three-dimensional structures on the surface of the weave to give the work a different texture as you view it from different angles.
